Nearly one-fifth of all air freight worldwide is chilled goods. Additionally, a sizable portion of that is exported. Exporting goods to international markets, particularly Asia, is more common and significantly more profitable than exporting to US domestic markets.

The Eurofreight International Group, with its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, is one of the biggest global freight firms. According to IBISWorld, Eurofreight controlled 31% of the global market for goods forwarding in 2017. However, it wasn't until 2008—quite recently—that it was introduced to the American market. By growing its global network of airport agents—the network carriers whose agents occupy the area used by goods forwarders for their agents' products—Eurofreight reportedly hopes to acquire traction in the US.
